Camila Aguayo

Camila is an incoming Hot Metal Bridge Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh that hasĀ a passion for exploring the intersections of history, culture, and identity. Armed with a unique academic background, she graduated with a dual degree in Marketing and Art History, combining analytical acumen with a profound appreciation for the artistic and cultural expressions of societies. Camila's research interests are centered around the profound impact of Spanish colonialism on shaping Puerto Rican nationality and identity in the 19th century. Through the works of Jose Campeche and Francisco Oller, Camila delves into complex historical narratives, unearthing the multifaceted dynamics that have influenced the island's sense of self.
