Wendy Prudencio is a Ph.D. student in the Public Policy Program with a specialization in Emergency Management. She is concurrently working on her Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems. Wendy obtained her M.S. in Emergency Health Services, specializing in Emergency Management. Her research interests include disaster response and recovery in coastal areas, housing, and policy implementation. She has a passion for advocacy and public service in minority communities. Her current research focuses on the impact of natural disasters to coastal housing in Puerto Rico during Hurricane Maria. Wendy is a VADM Lautenbacher Graduate Scholar and a NOAA EPP/MSI Earth System Sciences and Remote Sensing Scholar.
